Estancia Harberton

Once in Ushuaia, furthest town south why not to go a little bit further and explore an estancia which was a last settlement before Antarctica - Estancia Harberton.
To gt there we took a boat that allowed us to admire some of the local inhabitats.

Island owned by Cormorans.

Seals enjoying the day and probably for them fairly warm day.

Stopping at a little island - Isla Martillo, filled with Magellan penguins.

Estancia maintains its original buildings made from wood. Lots of sheep and cattle used to be kept here.  Both for wool and meat and sold together with vegetables to gold miners of the era.

On the way back we travelled on the land. And on the way witnessed some shocking sights, like this demolished by...beavers!

Pieces of forest munched by beavers

Less shocking but also quite a sight, was an area where all the trees adapted to constant strong winds.
